How time flies ! It's been how many years ????

After my return from the Northern Territory, today was a public holiday here in Brisbane and we headed out for some lunch with good friends Glen & Liz and their two boys .. I first met these guys about 6-7 years ago when I photographed their eldest son Liam 6 (almost 7). So it's been a while since we had them in front of the camera. The weather was perfect for the pier and those dark clouds that loomed stayed away just long enough to let us grab a few shots .. This one pretty much sums up the energy these little guys have !

City Kid Heads North West for the Mad Hatters Tea Party / Wedding - Northern Territory !!

Last Thursday I flew to Nhulunbuy which is in the top end of the northern Territory for the wedding of Lyndsay & Dan. Lyndsay, like so many "brides to be" had found me via the internet and called to ask if I'd travel to Gove/Nhulunbuy for a wedding. Well my first response was "where??"..
So after Lyndsay filled me in on the details and told me that it would be a themed wedding how could I refuse !? Well was I in for a treat ! So it was off to Cairns and then onto Gove where Lyndsay & Daniel greeted me at the airport (actually they were 5 minutes late but I forgave them). They made up for it by shouting me a beer .. :O)

In the last 9 years photographing weddings I've not seen a dress as cool and funky as Lyndsay's - wow !

All the girls looked amazing in their dresses ! And Aimee was the perfect flower girl ..

Daniel & the boys looked the part and the ceremony went beautifully to plan ..

Dad was proud as punch to see his little girl get hitched and I can tell you there was the odd tear . These are those moment I just love to capture - you just can't explain the emotion, but I think this image shows it fairly well .

After the ceremony we headed off to a place the locals call "The Lagoon", here you'll find half a dozen Crocodiles and about a gazillion ants ! (big ones). But being the brave photographer I took it in my stride (always with one eye on the lagoon) and we had a great time !

When We'd finished with our location shoot it was time to head back to the Walkabout Lodge where Jarrod the Page Boy was playing a little Croquet - what else would you do at a mad hatters tea party !?

All in all it was great weekend and I have to thank Lyndsay & Daniel for showing me around their part of the world, it truly was a great experience ! guy's have an awesome time in Tassie and Congratulations on pulling off a truly stunning Wedding ! NT Style ..

It was a great weekend filled with Seminars, judging & a general catch up with fellow photographers from all over Australia ..

Submissions are made in print form and a maximum of four prints are able to be entered.

We Picked up 2 Silver Awards for the following images ..

This was our first year entering the awards so we were pretty happy with the results !

The other two prints scored well but just short of awards ..

Sunday 25th May - Emma & Matt

Emma & Matt were married at Christ the King Catholic Church at Deception Bay.

The weather was absolutely beautiful today, not a cloud in the sky. It certainly made for a gorgeous sunset too !

We hung out after the Ceremony mainly down at Woody Point where the Champagne flowed and nibblies were had ! It was then back to the Belverdere Hotel on the water for the reception.

Congratulations guys & have a wonderful time in Thailand !

Just as were finishing up with the Vintage Car, who should pull up to say hello but Chris & Nicole who's wedding was shot only in April ! (their post is below) - They happened to see Trevor's 10 Seater Limo and thought they'd say hi ! Personally I think they may be stalking me !
Great to see you guys too !

Portraits at the Pier

I caught up with Scott & Angela yesterday down at Shorncliffe for some portraits of their little guy Zac, 16 months old now. I shot Scott & Angela's Wedding back in September 2005, they've been overseas for a while but are now back home. During the shoot I saw a number of Wedding Party's turning up, what a busy day ! and what great weather it was for shooting !

This was one of my Fav's

Saturday 10th May - Leanne & John

What beautiful weather we're having at the moment, truly a photographers dream Saturday !
It was an early start over at Johns house (actually we were there before he was !) and his Mum Sam made us feel at home as did the rest of the family. We spent an hour with the boys and then it was off to the girls at Chapel Hill, where spirits were high and the girls all looked gorgeous ! including Stephanie (8) who grilled us fairly well on who we knew in the family and how we knew them ! I think she could have a future in law enforcement ..

We headed from the girls over to Mt Gravatt to the Greek Orthodox church where all the guests were made to wait outside for Johns big arrival, and he didn't disappoint !

John & Leanne were married in a traditional Greek ceremony and I can tell you there was plenty of rice thrown as the newlyweds made there departure from the church !

We headed from there into the city where we spent some time shooting in two or 3 locations before heading back to The Tattersals Club for the reception.

Guys congratulations on a beautiful day & I'm sure you'll have a great time overseas on your Honeymoon !

Friday May 9th - Jen & David

5 Years ago I had the pleasure of shooting the Wedding of Kerry & Andrew, on Friday we met up once again for me to shoot Kerry's Brothers Wedding. It was great to see Kerry & Andrew again, (you guys still look the same !) I also had the pleasure of meeting their two new additions to the family Nick & Zoe.

Jen & David were married at St Davids Church at Chelmer just around the corner from where Jen grew up. It was a beautiful ceremony and the group shot outside was a blast !

We left the guests for an hour or so and shot some beautiful images just around the corner in Laurel Ave .. Then it was back to Hillstone at St Lucia for the reception.

Congratulations guys and have a great honeymoon !
