Fraser Island • Queensland

Well it was off to Fraser Island on Friday for a few days, mixing work
with pleasure. We stayed in a beautiful house at Orchid Beach
(up the Northern End of the island). Whilst I was there with the
family to enjoy a few days R&R I did have a job to do !
Well, sort of ....
Shooting a few pics of the house we stayed in for for some friends
(if you can call that work).
So I was able to duck off and shoot a few images for myself too ..

The best part about this shot was
the coconut smiled on cue ..
no blinks either ...

Fraser Island truly is a beautiful part of Australia, oh and it's big !
124 Kilometers big !

One of the local dingoes
taking a break ..
Fraser is well known for its
Dingo population.

The views at daybreak are spectacular !

"The Maheno"

En route to Japan, in cyclonic
conditions her tow rope broke
and she came to grief on the
eastern beach of Fraser Island.
That was back in 1935

The Champagne Pools are located
just North of Indian Head, along
75-mile beach. These pools provide
a very popular swimming hole with
the ocean crashing over the rocks
into shallow sandy pools. The foaming water is where the name
Champagne Pools comes from.

Errrrr..... Rock Slime .....

So there you have it, a few of the shots taken in three days on the island, traveling with a wife and two kids too !

Indy 2007 - Gold Coast

Looking over some recent work I thought I'd share some shots that were taken at last years Indy on the Gold Coast - I was lucky enough to get myself a trackside access all areas pass and the end result was about 4000 shots ..!! This was a nice change for me as sports photography isn't an area I've ventured into much, but I had a ball. I have a gallery with about 150 or so shots in it ..
You can click here to view them all. It truly was a great experience !

The Drought Breaker to Kick the Year Off!!!

Kym and Paul's wedding on 4 January 2008 had to be the wettest day Brisbane has had in a very long time! Apparently there was 36mms of rain in about 20 minutes*. But these guys were fine about it - they weren't going to let downpours destroy their wedding day!
